Today we went to the pumpkin patch. It was really cool and windy outside, so I don't think the babies enjoyed it as much as they could have. I think given the chance Ben would have went into the chicken pen with them. Ava liked looking at the animals, but had no desire to pet them.
Our breaking news is that Ava now has her first tooth. Finally!!!! I got to see it today for the first time. She will never let you see it or feel it, but it has finally broken through.
Ava and Ben are so much fun now. Ava is learning new words everyday. Or at least I call them words and I know what she is saying. Today our cat was at the door meowing and she started meowing. Now granted it was a real clear meow, but I knew what she was saying. She has also learned to say Papa and she now says mom mom mom mom a lot!!! Ben says mom mom and da da and a few other words that I am not sure about.
Ben is also able to stand up now all by himself. They have been pulling up and letting go for a few weeks now. Ava still has to have something to pull up on.
The pictures posted are from their first birthday professional pictures.
As many of you know, we had Ben & Ava's 1st birthday party on Saturday. It was a lot of fun and a nice mess. They got lots of new toys and got to eat cake for the first time ever. Ava did really well opening presents and Ben did not quite understand why after he opened one, we took it from him and wanted him to open another. When it came to eating cake, their personalities definitely came through. Ava got a little bit on her hands and face and then was over it. Ben grabbed his cake and just dug into it.
